See this?My mom used to tell me I should go to law school because not only did I like to argue the opposing viewpoint, I also had a disturbing tendency to taking everything literally.
Case in point: I found this little container for paper clips. It said "Staples" on it so that's what I filled it with.
I'll empty on January 1. Anyone want to guess how long it takes to fill it up? We could make a contest out of it...

Ummm...I can't even hazard a guess! I think a lot of kids do that literal thing, especially once they start to learn that so much of the time, life ISN'T literal. If that makes sense.
Or guess how many staples it holds!

heeheehee! i on the other hand tend to be unnecessarily abstract:
staples? why staples? of which origin- things that are necessary- like love? is it a little jar for love? and if it is- what good does it do to keep love in a jar? dab yourself with it when you feel lonely, or open it up in the middle of a subway car and let it fill the air with the hope of camaraderie and... yeah. paper clips. they'll get us every time.
