Informal Poll

Just keeping it light this weekend:

What time do you eat dinner (or supper for some of you)?
Do you eat at the dining room table or in front of the TV?
Who does most of the cooking?

We eat about 5:30 most nights.  I'm starving by the time I get home from work.  Hubs and I both cook.  He starts, and I usually finish when I get home. Growing up we ALWAYS ate at the dining room table.  So I'm a little embarrassed to admit we eat pretty much anywhere.  Sometimes at the table, and sometimes in the living room--but we are together, which I think is more important than where we are.

When I'm at school, I normally eat dinner around 5:30. But at home, it's later. Around 8 PM or so. I normally eat at my desk, in front of the computer. Which is really not good.

I do most of the cooking (when I cook.) We try to have our big meal of the day sometime between 12 and 2 PM because I go to the gym around 5 and don't get back until nearly 7 and after 7PM is really too late to eat. So the evenings is a time to (as my mother would say) forage. I'm ashamed to say we mostly eat in front of the TV.

We eat at 5pm in front of the TV. (Hey, can't miss my sports shows!) My wife cooks during the week and I cook on the weekends.

We usually eat between 6 and 6:30 p.m. and I do most of the cooking. We always eat at the table in the kitchen unless we have company and then we move to the larger table in the dining room.

We eat around 6:00 pm unless hubs is working late. My stepdaughter does homework at the kitchen table while I cook. Most days we eat at the table but occasionally we will eat in front of the TV. I agree that it's the fact you are together that is important.

I find it is age related. When working a very late dinner, but now we are retired, dinner time is a couple of hours earlier. But always together, at our age, time is precious.

My mom and I usually eat around 4:30/5:00 PM. It depends, since sometimes we end up getting home after that, and I have a class at that time during the week.

I usually eat dinner between 6 - 6:30. I sit at the dining room table or at my computer desk. I never bring dinner into the living room cuz I don't watch much tv (especially not the depressing news, which is all that's on at that hour).

We tend to eat late. Hubby doesn't get out of work until 6, 6:30 sometimes and he cooks (I bake). Before kids, we also ate at the table. Now we usually eat in the living room. I agree, it's more important that we eat together than where we eat.

We usually eat between 6:30 and 7:30. It depends when the husband gets home... I do most of the cooking. And yes, (hangs head in shame) we eat in the living room in front of the TV. But we are together and we are talking about our day and whatever show we are all watching. :)

Eat at 5:30 - 6.
I cook most of the time but my husband is an excellent cook - he just needs a day or two of warning.
We're a family of four and eat at our table maybe once a week. Most meals are at our counter. The kids always want to sit on the stools.
We eat in front of the TV, maybe once a week. No - hold that - the KIDS eat in front of the TV once a week so Mike and I can sit at the table and eat in peace.
Wow, Vicki. That was random. But strangely interesting.
