Just a light and easy post for ya today.  I've been in a major book acquisition phase lately.

I got ALL SIX of these for just over $5.

Pretty Little Liars, Flawless & Perfect by Sara Shepard.
Freaky Green eyes by Joyce Carol Oates
A Map of the World by Jane Hamilton
Fourplay by Jane Moore

Then I won a $25 gift certificate from Candyland's Joy contest courtesy of the fabulous Tahereh and so I used it to get these:

Shifter by Janice Hardy
First Contact by Evan Mandery
Brains by Robin Becker

Then, I won these from Mason Canyon & Kate @ the Disgruntled Bear:

Imposter's Daughter by Laurie Sandell
Adversary by Kate Kaynak
Tempted by a Warrior by Amanda Scott

And hopefully arriving this week:

A rather diverse collection, eh?  Now I just need to find the time to READ these puppies.

Have you had any splurges lately (even non-book related?)

Awesome stuff - that'll keep you reading for awhile!

No shopping sprees of any kind here - I'm definitely missing out.

Awesome, I envy you. But I do have one question about all those covers with pretty girls on them like the paranormal one I keep seeing around the blogosphere which you hope will arrive soon. Teen angst aside, why aren't the girls ever smiling?

A Map of the World is very good. Happy reading! My birthday is coming up and my husband promised to take me to Barnes and Noble for a splurge. I'm already planning my attack!

We have a "books to share" store here. You give 'em paper backs you no longer want and you can buy books at a quarter of the cover price. Some of them end up being pretty cheap. Recently I got:
The Witches, by Roald Dahl
The Captain's Dog: My Journey with the Lewis and Clark Tribe, by Roland Smith
I Am Regina, by Sally M. Keehn (historical fiction about a girl who was taken by Indians in 1755.)
The Moorchild, by Eloise McGraw (a Newbery Honor book)
Dragonwings, by Laurence Yep (a Newbery Honor book)

When I'm finished with them I will be passing them on to two young readers I know who don't have the money for new books.

Wow, great book swag.

Hmm, my splurges this week have been Mockingjay, I Am Number Four, Paranormalcy, Clockwork Angel, oh, and all eight of the Morganville Vampire series, which I got in a bargin bookstore for £10.00.

I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting too. You know I'm a book addict. :)

I had a wine splurge last night and am paying for it now. I also sent to the library and picked up a splurge of books. I'm reading Dante's Inferno translated by Mark Musa right now.

LOVE Joyce Carol Oates. Most of the time. Also, I've heard nothing but good things about First Contact. You'll have to give us a few reviews... when you find the time of course.
Splurges... hmmm... Jcrew has a beautiful pair of boots to die for but I'm looking around my house and there's nothing I can sell that will raise the funds required...

Well I haven't bought anything lately but I did haul a whole bunch of books from the library on Monday. I lurve the library. I feel like I'm getting away with something when I leave with a dozen books. But I always bring them back so...I guess, I'm getting away with reading?
